ASACP Promotes Henning to VP of Technology

LOS ANGELES — ASACP has promoted Tim Henning to vice president of technology and forensic research.

“I am pleased to announce Tim Henning’s promotion to vice president of technology and forensic research,” ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said.

Henning was one of ASACP’s first staff members in 1996 working as a forensic investigator for the CP reporting hotline.

The organization says that Henning’s expertise and the data collected from its hotline gives both ASACP and the industry proof to support that the adult industry is not involved in child pornography.

“I am both honored and very excited to take on the challenges this position affords and will continue to offer my very best efforts to ASACP and in protecting children online,” Henning said.

ASACP said Henning continually increases his role in the international child protection community. His efforts have helped law enforcement convict criminals involved in child pornography and he has been slated as an expert witness in several cases because of his expertise.

Henning is responsible for overseeing the development of ASACP’s technical infrastructure including the CP reporting hotline, ASACP’s membership monitoring program, and the Restricted to Adults — RTA label.

“ASACP and what it has grown into today, exists only because of Tim and his technical expertise, his dedication to child protection, ASACP and his continual ‘can do’ personality,” Irvine said.

“Tim is the driving force behind anything technical at ASACP. He keeps himself educated on cutting edge technology. Tim is like having our own CSI and research teams. He analyses the need and the available technology to determine if proposed projects will help protect children and fits within ASACP’s mission.”

Henning also facilitates the ASACP technical task force, which collaborates on potential future technologies to determine what ASACP needs to develop to protect children. Currently this taskforce is adapting RTA for use on mobile apps.

Henning has a degree in computer science and has worked as a webmaster.
